EmCare started its first hospitalist program in 1993 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with the goal of caring for the unassigned admissions from the emergency department. Since that early beginning we have developed hospitalist programs for hospitals across the country. We have grown to more than 37 programs in 15 states that provide care for more than 1,000 inpatients every day.
